CyberEarth22 Webinar (PTTV) — Our special guest for the opening episode of this year’s Earth Day Tech Summit series, CyberEarth22, is Dr. DaNa Carlis, Deputy Director, Global Systems Lab (GSL), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Dr. Carlis will kick-off CyberEarth22. He is a meteorologist and serves as the Deputy Director at GSL since September 2020. He comes to GSL from the Weather Program Office (WPO) where he established the Earth Prediction Innovation Center (EPIC) Program. Dr. Carlis enjoys working between science, policy, and society to ensure better products and services for the American people.

During this year’s Earth Day Weekend series, Dr. Carlis discusses high-performance computers (HPC), supercomputing capacity for weather and climate research and development (R&D), and higher-resolution Earth-system computer models. Add these tech and cyber discussions, questions, and answers across air, land, sea, and space domains to your classroom, your boardroom, city council, general assembly, or during your next STEM meetings with local BDPA Chapters.

Hurricane Season officially begins on June 1st. Visit NOAA.gov for career and internship opportunities and visit READY.gov to prepare in advance or recover from this year’s contingencies.
