Vice President Kamala Harris and Sydney Barber share talks among history-making “Firsts” in Annapolis
ANNAPOLIS, MD—Vice President Kamala Harris, the first woman to deliver the commencement speech at the United States Naval Academy (USNA), spoke with Midshipman First Class Sydney Barber, the first Black woman brigade commander.
Second Lieutenant Barber accepted her oath and received her commission in the United States Marine Corps upon graduation from the U.S. Naval Academy, today.
