Bowie State University Named Tom Joyner Foundation School of the Month

University captures Cybersecurity and  Super-computing grants, jointly certified through 2020 as a national Center of Academic Excellence (CAE) in Cyber Defense (CD) education with the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

BDPA’s rich Tech and STEM Traditions with Bowie State University and HBCU/MIs include regional technology conferences and tech summits with industry and local BDPA Chapters.

Maryland’s oldest historically black college or university founded in 1865, Bowie State is one of the region’s top comprehensive universities providing students with a high-quality education in a variety of in-demand fields. Bowie State is ranked the state’s best value school by The Economist and among the top 25 HBCUs by U.S. News & World Report.

Bowie State is a leader in education in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields (STEM). The university is one of Maryland’s top five universities graduating African-Americans with bachelor’s degrees in biology and the computer science field (Diverse). Bowie State’s cyber security programs are recognized by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security as models of excellence.

Throughout March, the University will be recognized on the nationally syndicated Tom Joyner Morning Show and receive those funds raised from listeners, alumni and other interested parties.
