BDPA Student Members launch high-tech careers with America’s Navy
Durham, NC —Ensign Raven Stevenson becomes National BDPA’s first High School Computer Competition (HSCC) alumna to receive a Commission in the United States Navy and U.S. Armed Forces. Her “First Salute” was captured live during Naval ROTC Commissioning ceremonies for the Class of 2013 at Duke University.
“First Salutes” are long standing traditions requiring newly commissioned officers to give silver dollars to recipients of their very first salute showing respect for those superior enlisted personnel who helped the new officer achieve commissioned status.
